Tank & Trailer Service in Houston, TX

Heil and Polar tank trailers, plus running gear on every trailer type.

Tank work is a different discipline from tractor work, and plenty of mobile techs will not touch it. Energy Transport Solutions services Heil and Polar tank trailers alongside the running gear underneath them, which is most of what actually strands a loaded tanker between the Houston terminals and points north.

Why tanks get treated differently

A loaded tank trailer is not a dry van. What is inside it constrains where the trailer can sit, who can work near it and how long it can wait, and that changes the calculation on every repair. A trailer that could otherwise wait until morning often cannot. The practical effect is that tank faults need someone who will come out rather than someone who will schedule you.

The equipment itself is also specific. Discharge valves, pumps and fittings behave in ways that a general trailer tech may not have seen, and the failure modes repeat — which is the useful part, because it means the same handful of problems account for most calls. Familiarity with Heil and Polar hardware is the difference between diagnosing a valve fault and replacing parts around it.

The rest of the trailer still fails

Underneath the tank, a tanker is a trailer like any other, and it wears the way trailers wear. Air bags, hangers and bushings take a beating on loaded runs through the Houston-to-Conroe corridor. Landing gear gets bent, seized or sheared, usually at the least convenient moment and usually in a yard. Trailer brakes need the same attention as tractor brakes and get less of it.

We handle both halves of that — the tank and the gear it rides on — on site at your yard, at a terminal or wherever the trailer stopped. Diagnosis, where it is needed, is a flat $300 quoted before we roll.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work on tank trailers other than Heil and Polar?

Heil and Polar are what we work on most and know best, which is what you want on a valve or pump fault. Running gear — suspension, air bags, landing gear, brakes — is broadly common across trailer makes, so that work is not brand-limited. If you are running a different tank, call and describe the problem.

Will you work on a loaded tanker?

It depends entirely on the repair, the product and where the trailer is sitting. Some work is straightforward loaded; some is not, and no honest answer to that question is generic. Tell us what is in it, where it is and what has failed, and we will tell you what can be done before we come out.

Can you handle trailer work at our yard rather than roadside?

Yes, and for anything that is not stopping a load it is usually the better option. Landing gear, suspension and brake work done on scheduled downtime at your yard costs less and takes less out of your week than the same repair done on a shoulder at night.

Do you carry out federal cargo tank inspections?

Yes — the 49 CFR Part 180 periodic tests and inspections, performed at your yard. Doing inspection and repair on the same visit is the useful part: if something is found, it gets quoted and dealt with there rather than at a second appointment weeks later.
